United Health Care Specialty Benefits
| Feb132011United Healthcare (UHC) has recently launched its newest addition to group health supplemental insurance “Critical illness insurance” called United Healthcare Specialty Benefits. A group insurance leader in the industry and the individual market where a large portion of the population has health insurance.
This is offered for employees of groups as a voluntary benefits solution for rising costs of health care and the need to offset the rising deductibles that are near certain to be raised in order to even afford the premiums. This has all stemmed from the Health Care Reform but should be a product that should be in everyone’s Health insurance portfolio regardless.
Benefits are covered under ten (10) different critical illnesses including cancer, heart attack, and stroke as the standard coverage for most policies of this kind.
Coverage can be granted in 3 different ways as premiums paid either by:
Employer 100%,
Partial/shared with employees, or
Completely as a Voluntary Benefits plan, whereby the premiums 100% are deducted from the employee via payroll service of sorts.
